Robert “Bob” Bartley creates the vision for the team. It is all about the clients that we are fortunate enough to work with. As he says, “it is not difficult to work hard for our clients when they are such impressive people that inspire us!” Bob is also the inspiration for BFA’s work ethic which he attributes to his parents and growing up at his family’s famous restaurant. Bob is always pushing the team to sharpen our skills for the benefit of our clients. He is tenacious in our collective pursuit of mastery as individuals and as a team, but understands that it is a life-long journey that is never complete. Bob often notes how fortunate he is to be on such a great team. He has said “we all sort of found each other because we all believe in being our best…” Bob has noted that one of the coolest things (“Wicked cool” if you are from Boston) is when we sat down as a team to express BFA’s core values and purpose, that everyone was in agreement because it was their core values! Including: Honesty/Integrity, Compassion & Respect for others, Be Reliable/Accountable, Make a Difference, Do your Best/work hard/be the best you can be.
Bob runs the show for you, our client, by leading your team of professional Financial Planners, CPA’s, Lawyers, Insurance Agents and Money Managers. Together we provide you with a comprehensive plan that focuses on you achieving your goals based on the things that are most important to you. Bob is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Merrimack College and a Presidential Scholar. Bob uses this experience to guide you in both good and bad times and to help focus on what you can control to minimize financial stress. He has followed the financial markets and has been actively investing since the early 1980’s. He is known for his sage portfolio management, retirement planning expertise and coordination of small business and individual planning for business owners. Where taxes impact all aspects of financial planning, from investing to estate planning, Bob draws on his experience as a CPA when planning for you. Medical Economics® Magazine has named Robert to its Best Financial Advisors for Doctors list. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association, National Association of Personal Financial Advisors and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. We pull together and collaborate with all of your financial professionals to give you the best finance advice. Oftentimes we find that poor coordination of advice leads to poor decision-making. In addition, poor coordination of professionals and their advice burdens you with having to sift through the advice of the various professionals, e.g. Your insurance subject matter expert recommends long term Care Insurance but your CPA and/or attorney provide conflicting advice – whose advice do you act on? Did the insurance subject matter expert recommend the insurance because it is necessary or was their advice clouded by the commission? A well-coordinated team would hash this out and provide the right advice to you.
We work with your existing professionals or coordinate with a team vetted of best-in-class professionals where appropriate to ensure that all facets of your planning are in agreement and alignment. These professionals are also available to support your internal team with technical issues in area of expertise.
